A much needed update…

March 22nd, 2008

So I don’t know about you all, but I was getting a little tired of seeing Bert’s gross finger every time I viewed the site. (No offense babe. Love you!) So I decided it was time for an update! Last month, Bert and I were actually able to spend Valentine’s Day together. Yay! I flew into Savannah for a couple of days, which was way too short of a trip but great nonetheless. I even went with Bert to the doctor so he could get his stitches out. On Thursday, Bert took me out to dinner to Il Pasticcio, which I can easily say is one of our favorite restaurants in Savannah. He also gave me the sweetest card and a rose. :) Then on Friday, Bert and I actually drove up to Tennessee for a wedding. My sister’s best friend, Devan, and her fiance, Adam were getting married. Janette was the maid of honor and my mom did the photography. It was a really small, simple wedding but very sweet. After the wedding we then went over to Jason and Jackee’s house (my brother and sister-in-law) and got to visit with them and my nephew, Jayce. This trip was the first time Bert had ever been to my hometown and to see where I grew up, so I was really glad he was able to come. Here are some pictures from our trip:

On Thursday of this upcoming week, I am actually flying into Savannah for another wedding! This trip will actually be a little longer than my last one. I will be there from Thursday night until Monday night. I am sooo ready and excited! Bert and I have a few more trips planned over the next few months, including a trip to the Gulf Shores and another trip back to Savannah for me. For a long distance couple, we have actually been doing a great job seeing each other as often as we have. This stretch has actually been the longest for us: roughly 6 weeks. However, I am pretty sure I speak for both of us when I say this, but I think we are both ready to be living in the same time zone. :) Long-distance is hard on the heart and soul and although this experience has been great for us in so many ways, I am definitely hoping that it will not last too much longer.

Stay tuned for more updates! I will try to be better about updating more often…

Nice update, my dear, and MUCH nicer pictures than that last set. My compliments to the photographer (ahem)…but, of course, she had such great subjects to work with!

Love and miss you (both). I’m really glad you’ll be together again this weekend. The long distance thing sucks, but I speak from experience when I say that it can work out in the long run.

I agree with Faith. These pics are MUCH more pleasing to the eye than the ugly finger picture. UGH! Nice photography!
All I can say is it would have been nice to have you in our time zone, Jasper, specifically in the 28277 zip code, this past weekend. It’s funny though. You may not have been here, but your name was always coming up. So, it was kinda like you WERE here. Know what I mean?
Y’all have fun this weekend! Don’t let Bert hurt himself with the table saw he borrowed from his Dad, OK?
    Love y’all! :-)

And I have to agree with the two Mom’s - I love looking at these photo’s a lot more than the previous ones! Jasper, you look so different with your hair straightened for the wedding. (I’m anxious to have my OWN copies from the wedding - hint, hint, Faith.) I sure hope you & Bert reside in the same time zone again soon, too. Maybe you’ll both be able to come visit me in sunny Fla. next fall or winter - if I ever get the place done. I’m watching for more photo’s of “my” shed! LOL Granny

TABLE SAW?! Like the ones they saw people in half with? OH NO! And will it be being used at night outside? LOL

I didn’t realize you were travelin’ during Valentine’s Day & was disappointed when I didn’t see any “love birds” update here. I did a real double-take when I saw the straight hair pic! It looks very nice but, you know I’m a wavy/curly kinda gal at heart. Were you able to do it by yourself? Can’t imagine how. Oops! There I go with the questions again. I thought Bert had already been to Piney Flats before. Certainly know Bert has his hold on you but, it sounds like Savannah itself does as well. After visiting, I can understand just how that can happen. Thanks so much for the update.. Always look forward to them.
